2016 Mazda CX-5 Review| Must Have Holiday Rental!

2016

Luxury and space at nearly 1/3 of the cost! I got the wonderful opportunity to take on the new and improved 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring in Sonic Silver Metalic for my eventful weekend in Atlanta.

Today I'm sharing 4 of my favorite must have features just in time for the holidays and family road trips! You definitely want to have this SUV on your list of possible rentals this season; promise after the first day you'll want to own one of your own trust me!

1. The Price Tag & Fuel Economy With a starting MSRP of $21,795  and fuel economy averaging 29 MPG combined (26 City, 33 Highway, 3.4 gallons per 100 miles) this is a steal! Some 2016 Sedans are on the market today with much smaller trunk space and horrible fuel economy. I was absolutely surprised to see that the family friendly SUV could compensate one additional passenger, 4x the trunk space and save a great penny at the gas tank without having a soccer mom feel or even a hefty price tag.

I drove 1 hr to Atlanta for the Patsie Girl on Tour Launch & still had a full tank to get me from Atlanta to a baby shower in Douglassville which ended up taking 2 hours in traffic. Nonetheless I appreciated the value of highway gas mileage on such a large vehicle.

2. Safety This model came fully equip with the added electronic parking brake which definitely came in handy for my small frame. I always struggle with lifting the emergency brake when I park on our inclined driveway; within a click of a button the car was secured. This is a perfect added feature for those of you who are considering camping/cabin trips this winter where parking isn't always ideal. The Blind Spot Monitor & Rear Cross Traffic Alert are a beast together! We all know driving in Atlanta at any time of the day can be daunting but with the convenient warning signals to let me know when a car was approaching my blind spot or changing lanes I never felt so confident in keeping myself and my passengers safe. We can't take everyone back to driving school but we can avoid uncontrollable collisions!

3. Convenience The auto dimming mirror is ideal for long distance driving where the natural sunlight & opposing car lights are constantly changing around you. I found the Pivoting Adaptive Front- lighting System to be a huge help on the way back home from Douglassville. As I issued my turning signals to enter 1 lane traffic without any light poles for quite a few miles my front light illuminated even brighter to help guide me with my turns down the extremely dark roads completely eliminating the need for me to flash my headlights!

4. Endless Options Mazda offers a full array of endless options to fit your lifestyle needs. From Sirius Radio, to a maxed out Tech Package & Navigation System there's a feature for everyone in the family in the 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring.

Where are you traveling for the holidays this year?
